City of Richmond's Branscombe House Artist-in-Residence 2022
For 2022, I have the privilege of serving the @cityofrichmondbc as the seventh annual Artist-in-Residence @branscombehouse 🏠
Branscombe House is located at 4900 Steveston Highway and is one of the earliest settler homes built in the area; as such it is significant for its historical association to Steveston and for reflecting the pattern of commercial and related residential development that occurred in Steveston’s early history.
During my residency, I will be offering free community arts & wellness programs, activities and workshops to be held at Branscombe House and other locations in Richmond throughout the year. My intention with these offerings is to cultivate cross-cultural allyship through arts and healing practices, with particular focus on celebrating the “third culture” experience, thus bridging communities together.
Please join me virtually on Thursday, Feb 3rd at 7pm PST for my residency launch and artist talk followed by a Q&A session. You may register here: https://www.richmond.ca/culture/sites/branscombehouse/branscomberesidency.htm
Thank you to the City of Richmond for this wonderful honour and opportunity to serve. I can’t wait to get to know the vibrant community of Steveston and Richmond at large. Keep up to date by watching this space and following @branscombehouse on instagram! Let’s boogie! 💃🏽
